Pearl Barley
Pearl barley is the primary form of barley for human consumption as its hull & bran are removed, in order for it to be edible. Pearl barley is a wonderfully nutritious low-fat food with a good iron & fibre content.
Pearl Barley 500g
Pearl barley, or pearled barley, is barley that has been processed to partially remove its hull. All barley must have its fibrous outer hull removed before it can be eaten; pearl barley is then polished to remove the bran layer.
Pearled Wheat
Pearl Wheat is produced from fully-matured soft white wheat that is then passed through a pearling machine. The pearling process removes the hull (the outer layer of the grain) from the kernel, which helps to lower the cooking time of the grains and extends their shelf life.
