Paprika is comparable to the sweet red bell pepper. It is somewhat larger and much milder than the chilli pepper. Paprika peppers are also known as pimento peppers or sweet red peppers. Relished for its vibrant colour and mildly pungent, peppery/sweet flavour, paprika is called for in many Cajun & Creole soups & stews. It’s good with cheese, chicken, duck, egg dishes, hors oeuvres and vegetables. We use it in salads to add not only colour, but also acts as an emulsifier (combining the oil & vinegar).
