Canada’s high-ranking officials visit AGT Foods Africa

Director General Southern and Eastern Africa Bureau at Global Affairs Canada, Mr. Marc-Andre Fredette, together with officials from the High Commission and Trade Office in South Africa, visited AGT Foods Africa on 26 February 2019 for a tour of the facility and a discussion on the local business environment.
“Mr Fredette and his officials were extremely impressed with the enormity, vision and accomplishments of AGT Foods Africa,” says Dean Miller, Marketing Manager AGT Foods Africa. “He saw first-hand the scope and far reaching effects of our business both upstream and downstream. From field to fork, AGT Foods Africa generates farming, jobs, training, sustenance and food security,” explains Dean.
AGT Foods Africa stores, processes and distributes seeds, grains, pulses, flours and spices to the food industry throughout South Africa. The tour of the different AGT divisions included spices, ingredients, retail, bakery and popcorn.
With a geographic footprint that extends to much of the African continent, AGT Foods Africa boasts the only seed coating facility in Africa. It has 30 000 hectares of farming under contract in Southern Africa bound for countries mainly in the Far East.
